Why is “The Secret” in everything?
Have you noticed the Law of Attraction in everything?
Lately I’ve been listening to The Secret book on tape. I’ve read about the law of attraction and find it fascinating.
But now that I know about the law of attraction, I’m seeing it in other places and other advice. For example, the classic Think and Grow Rich, is all about the law of attraction.
I listened to a wealth-building conference call by Robert Allen this week, and the techniques he discussed for vivid vision were also very similar to those technniques in the law of attraction.
Over the years I’ve often heard that when you set a goal, don’t just say what the goal is, but VISUALIZE it as if you already had it. FEEL it. SMELL it. Again, the same as the law of attraction.
After reading some the articles on the law of attraction and listening to The Secret, I started to put it to use. I intended for myself to find more business opportunities I can take advantage of. And right away, three things happened to make me believe The Secret is valid.
First, you have to understand a little about me. I’ve been “dabbling” in real estate investing. I’ve made a couple referrals to an investor I know and make $1,750. Not bad for writing a couple emails and talking to a couple people!
I also started a bulk candy vending business after reading about it from Brian Lee at Geniustypes. I grossed $50 in 90 days with one double head machine. That’s not a great income, but that money recouped the investment of the machine. If it keeps earning the way it has, I’ll start seeing profit in another 30 to 60 days.
So what happened to make be believe in The Secret? First, I made the decision that I wanted more business opportunities. Over the weekend I visualized it, thought about it, and became happy with it. The next day I found a bulk vending route of 12 machines being sold locally. I emailed the owner and have begun negotiations. Second, as I walked into 7-11 for a hot chocolate, two ladies walk in right behind me talking about how one is behind on her house payment and may need to sell the house to keep from losing it. Third, my sister sends me the address of a boarded up house she found accidentally.
Coincidence? You can call it that. I call it proof that The Secret is real.
I will test this further. Similar to Steve Pavlina’s Million Dollar Experiment, I will begin my own purposeful intention to build wealth and security. I will give you a monthly report.
I strongly suggest you learn about the law of attraction, or read The Secret.
Hi again
I too believe the Secret is real and getting proof ever day, whether it is in good things or bad. But I sincerely believe it is for real, we just need to understand how to use it, and not think that just by wanting something, it will be given to us.
Keep up with the good work, have been reading quite a few posts now and really enjoy your blog!

Hey Shawn,
This is a great post. I immediately noticed you referred to the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. This is an excellent book.
I stumbled across this book about four months ago, and honestly, I have not stopped reading it since. Although the book does not directly state “Your thoughts crate your reality” except for the title. It goes on providing instructions on how to put the LOA to work. It’s a killer book and I highly recommend it to everyone.
It cracks me up when people put down the movie “The Secret”, and those who believe in it. I tell those people to actually read and research the topic instead of automatically criticizing it. Then of course all I get is “blah blah blah” haha.
It is no secret! Yes, the information and/or steps to attainment may have been suppressed intentionally, but the information has always been out there for those who seek it!
BTW, I found your blog through Problogger and now am a regular reader of your blog.
Later,
Mike.

Thank you for choosing to visit. I’m glad you like the Secret as well. I can remember my grandmother always saying to me, “think positive thoughts.” Perhaps “The Secret” has never really been a secret? I think I needed to hear a little more explanation WHY I need to think positively.
This is so true.
I read ‘the secret’ and was really pleased with how I felt whilst reading it. I just thought ‘yay, that’s me’. I am a positive thinker and other people seem amazed that good things just seem to happen to me and fall into my lap. I’m not lucky. I’m a positive thinker. On the occasions that I am being miserable or worrying about this or that, then bad stuff happens and I feel bogged down. Stopping those thoughts right there can and does turn things around.
Of course ‘the secret’ also reminds us to take action, visualise and write down these positive thoughts and plans and this commitment of writing down was something that I’d never done before. I decided that I needed to get serious about my finances for my new business so started writing a spreadsheet of income for the year. not in brackets or as a maybe figure. as a real figure.
Guess what. The first payment hit my bank 2 weeks ago
I also changed my email address to reflect what I truly am and what others consider me as. I feel good.
Thanks for sharing your comments about the Think and Grow Rich. I’ll definitely look this up.
